In short
In WHM, open Add a Package, give it a name (yourbrand_starter), set disk space, bandwidth, email accounts, databases and addon domains, and save. Every account you create then uses one of these packages, and you can change a package later for all its accounts at once.
Step by step
- Log in to WHM.
- Open Packages → Add a Package.
- Name it with your brand prefix, e.g. yourbrand_business.
- Set the resources (see the table below).
- Choose features (the feature list controls what clients see in cPanel).
- Click Add.
Suggested limits to start with
| Setting | Starter | Business | Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| Disk space | 2 GB | 5 GB | 15 GB |
| Monthly bandwidth | 20 GB | 50 GB | 150 GB |
| Email accounts | 5 | 25 | 100 |
| Databases | 2 | 10 | Unlimited |
| Addon domains | 0 | 2 | 10 |
| Subdomains | 5 | 20 | Unlimited |
Adjust these to your reseller plan’s total space and to your clients. Price them using pricing your hosting plans.
Tips
- Avoid “unlimited” disk on cheap packages: one client could fill your whole plan.
- Limit email quotas per mailbox, or mailboxes will quietly eat your space.
- Keep names consistent with your website and WHMCS products so orders create the right package automatically.
- Use feature lists to hide tools clients don’t need.
Creating an account with a package
Account Functions → Create a New Account, enter the client’s domain, username and password, pick the package, and create. With WHMCS, this happens automatically when a client pays (billing with WHMCS).
Changing a package later
Edit the package and every account on it changes at once. To move one client to a bigger plan, use Upgrade/Downgrade an Account.
